Valentine's Day, Friendship Recipes & Friendship Fruit Salad

We celebrated Valentine's Day by making friendship fruit salad.  Each of the students brought in a prepared fruit.  We read the Story "Enemy Pie" and talked about the important qualities of friendships. Then we assigned each of the fruits one of the qualities, the whipping cream was the glue that held it all together.  We enjoyed a delicious Friendship Fruit salad.  Afterward, we wrote our recipes.
Thank you, Mrs. Dimos-Oris for coming in to give us a hand with our salad prep!

Earlier in the day, we did a math project with Valentine Conversation Hearts.  We sorted, counted, graphed, measured and divided using these candies.

Winter Walk Day

On Wednesday it was Winter Walk Day. The whole school went out to the field to walk laps for half an hour to promote a healthy lifestyle.  Such a great way to end our school day!
