Apple Day!

We had so much fun learning and tasting on our Apple Day! We counted, graphed, tasted, compared, and painted apples. We discussed both the life cycle of an apple and an apple tree.  We discussed the seasonal changes of an apple tree as well. We covered many grade-one science outcomes in this one day of fun.

We did a taste test of green, red and yellow apples.  I was surprised that the yellow apples were the favourite by far!

Thank you to Jenna and Nana Barb for helping us make our pies in the morning.

Thank you to everyone who sent apples for our activities.

Terry Fox Day

Today we celebrated Terry Fox Day.

We read his story, watched news clips, wrote a sentence, drew a picture, and ran for an hour this afternoon.

Fall trees and sunflowers

 Check out our beautiful art!

Math Game - Bump

This week we learned a new math game called BUMP.  We are practicing recognizing the dot numbers of the dice and matching them to the numerals.

Star of the Week - Sully

Sully was our first star of the week for this year!  It was fun learning more about our friend!

Great job, Sully!

Class promise

Today we read some books about the new school year.  We discussed the 3Rs and then we came up with a class promise.  Each student decorated their own hand and we added it to the promise, their signature!
