Bridge Building & Testing

Last week the students were challenged with a bridge building activity.  The challenge was to work in small groups to construct a sturdy, strong bridge that would span 15 centimeters!  Each group was given 50 straws and a roll of tape.  When the groups finished their construction we tested the strength of the bridge with marbles.  The strongest bridges held 100 marbles, while the weakest held less than 10.
