Field Day fun

 Here are a few pictures from our June field day.

Medicine River Wildlife Centre

 We were so excited that Medicine River Wildlife Centre agreed to come to us for a "field trip"! We learned about some of the wild animals that we might see around Alberta. We learned what to do if we see an injured wild animal and some strategies to keep animals safe. For example, cutting up plastic beverage container wrappers before putting them in the garbage. 

We were excited to meet special guest Olive the owl!  

Nutrition lesson

 We spent a week learning about healthy eating and nutrition. My daughter, Alexis, is studying to be a dietitian, so she prepared and led one of the lessons this week. She talked about the food groups, healthy food choices, snack choices that would be considered more of a dessert and should be limited, and food from a variety of ethnicities.
