50th Day of Grade One

 On Thursday it was the 50th day of grade one.  We had fun celebrating with a fruit loop math activity, we made 50-day crowns and we had a dress-up day on Tuesday.

Peace Is...

 This week we prepared for Remembrance Day by learning a poem and reading a couple of books about Peace.  Students also wrote their own thoughts about Peace.  Two students will read their sentences at the assembly.

We made poppies to display on our bulletin board alongside our sentences.  I love how they turned out!  Way to go, 1SB!

Pizza with the principal winner for November

 Ayan won pizza with the principal for November.  Ayan demonstrates Mountview's 3R's everyday!  Way to go, Ayan!

Halloween Fun!

 What a fun Halloween today!  We did Halloween Math with Skittles, we built our own playdoh monsters, and we played in the gym dancing to "Halloween Just Dance" we had a parade and then a party!  Thank you for all of the delicious food for the party!

Last week I asked the students to design a costume for me.  The majority said "Witch", lucky me, because that's a costume I had in my tickle trunk! :)
