Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who come out to help with our skates. We appreciate all that you do!

Vibration = Sound
Thursday, January 21
Today we experimented with producing different sounds by making simple musical instruments. We have discovered that sound is a result of vibrations.
We made harmonicas and Kazoos. Here are a few pictures and videos.

Flat Stanley
Flat Stanley has returned from all over the world and the information that he brought back for us is amazing!
We had friends and relatives complete projects for us from various places around Alberta, but also from British Columbia and as far away as New Zealand and Australia! WOW!
The time, effort and quality of the projects that are returned to the class are truly amazing. I am blown away each time we open one of these envelopes. Thank you to everyone who was able to participate. We love getting this mail. It's fun to learn about all the different communities.
Here is a sample of some of the projects:

New Year's Resolutions
January 4th!
Happy New Year! Welcome back!
We started off our week with a fresh start; we worked on writing New Year's Resolutions. First we heard a story about Resolutions, and then the students worked on a draft copy to brainstorm some resolution ideas. Finally, students typed a good copy of their resolutions and we turned them in to a craft project. These look amazing hanging from the ceiling in our room.
Then today, to add to the New Year feel, we made New Year's Eve firework pictures. These are also hanging from the ceiling.
Have a look!
