Kickin' It Karate Math

The kids are making amazing progress with the Kickin' It Math Facts Karate Math program.  Students practice reciting basic math facts with a partner every day. After the oral practice, students write a timed test. After 4 consecutive 100% tests students move up a level and earn a "belt".

Witch legs

I love this art!  It's a fun project on perspective.  Check out all of the different witch personalities...you can see them just in their legs.  I love it!

Words Their Way

We are learning the routine of how to complete the Words Their Way individualized spelling program.  Here is a sample of the word sorts for three students. Students practice with individually picked spelling patterns/lists.

Every day uses of rocks and minerals

Museum Field Trip

October 2nd.  It was a snowy day, but we were brave and walked down to the museum for our "Emerging City" program.  We learned a bit of the history of Red Deer, looked at different artifacts and figured out how to put them in chronological order and then made "City" dioramas.
