Karate Math

This week we started "Karate Math", this program has been a favourite year after year.  Students practice basic addition math facts aloud with a partner and then practice by writing the facts using the "touch point" strategy. It's always so fun to watch the excitement and the progress!

More Black Belts!

 These kids really know their facts!  Congratulations to Lydia for earning your black belt (26 tests) and Milana & Seth for earning your 2nd Degree Black belt (31 tests). Way to Go!

Karate Math - Black Belt!

Seth is the first one this year to earn his black belt for addition facts!  A black belt means that he has passed 26 timed tests of addition facts with 100% accuracy! Way to go!  On to earning his second-degree black belt!

Stay tuned, I have three more students right on his tail!  It's exciting!

Addition Master!

He did it!  Alex is our first to receive his double black belt for timed addition facts. He has passed 37 timed addition facts tests!  Way to go!  He's on to conquering multiplication now.

We celebrated our achievements with the Kickin' It Karate Math program!  So exciting to see the math success!

Kickin' It Karate Math

The kids are making amazing progress with the Kickin' It Math Facts Karate Math program.  Students practice reciting basic math facts with a partner every day. After the oral practice, students write a timed test. After 4 consecutive 100% tests students move up a level and earn a "belt".

Wow!  What amazing success the students have had with their math facts this year.  I'm so proud of these kids. Every single student made steady improvement all year.
