Layers of the earth
This week in science we have been learning about the different layers of the earth. Students should now be able to tell you that there are four layers of the earth and be able to name them. Great job with the plasticine models.

Layers of the earth models
Check out these cool models of the layers of the earth.
Students work in partners to make one earth, then we cut them in half so that each student has one dissection of the earth. Students then label each of the layers.

Layers of the Earth
October 1st
Part 1
We know that the earth consists of four layers: Inner Core, Outer Core, Mantle and Crust. Today we made our own model of the earth. Students worked in partners to make one earth. Next week we will cut them in half and students will label each of the parts of the earth.
Stay tuned for Part 2!
Part 2
October 5th
We cut the earth in half. Then we labelled each of the four parts! Very cool! Here is just a sample.
