Bricks 4 Kids ~ Bridge Building!

April 8th

Today Bricks 4 Kids came to our school to help kick off our science unit on Building and Testing designs.  We participated in a bridge building challenge.  The bridges were tested for strength and stability with beanbag weights.  After the bridge building contest the students built working catapults.  So much fun!
Thank you to our parents who were able to come and help us out!

Begin With The End in Mind!

April 4th

Begin with the end in mind ~ Goal setting for our final term.

At Student led conferences, before spring break, each student worked with their parent to set a goal for the final term of grade 3.  Here they are displayed on the door so that these goals stay fresh in mind.

Ukrainian "Pysanky" Style Eggs

I love how our copy cat Pysanky eggs turned out!  I think the Mod Podge version was a much easier project to attempt than the real thing, and I think they look great!

Neighbourhood Walk

Today we went on our "Spring" neighbourhood walk to deliver Friendship cards to our Mountview neighbours.  Love this bunch!

Leprechaun Art

Today we drew and then painted St. Patrick's Day leprechauns.  We used our art work as inspiration to write our own Leprechaun stories this week.

St. Patrick's Day ~ Green School Spirit Day

March 17th

We had a ton of fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day today!  When we walked in this morning, we discovered a sneaky leprechaun had been in our room in the night.  He threw shamrock confetti everywhere, and left us a rainbow treat.  For math we, counted, sorted and graphed "Lucky Charms" cereal.  Here are a few of the pictures.  We even WON the school spirit trophy for this month!  Yahoo!
