Last week in science we set up our experiment to make sugar crystals. We're still waiting to see the crystals appear.

Random Acts of Kindness for December
For December we are working on spreading kindness through our classroom and through the school. We have a "Random Acts of Kindness" calendar (I found on Pinterest) with a new challenge to inspire us each day. Each time someone is "caught" doing something kind, we tie a ribbon on our wreath. It is my hope that our wreath will be overflowing with colour by the time we leave for our Christmas break. So far, so good!
Christmas Elf!
December 1st
We were delighted to find that Santa sent us an elf for our classroom. We have named him Snowflake!

Testing soil
December 1st
Today the students had a close look at three types of soil to help deepen their understanding of what soil is comprised of. Students filled out a chart listing identifying features such as colour, texture, and particle size.

Snowmen
Check out these cute little snowmen! You'll have to look for them at the Festival of Trees next weekend. They will be decorating our Mountview tree.
