Building Bridges

Friday, May 6th

Today we started part one of a bridge building challenge.  Students were placed into groups and were given 50 straws and some tape.  Their challenge is to build a strong, stable bridge that can span 15 cms.  They can not use any other supplies.  At the end of the challenge, we will test the strength of each bridge.

Part One:  Planning and Construction

Bugs!

Friday, May, 6th

Mrs. Kennedy, from Butterfly Wings & Wishes (Edmonton), brought a few of her "bugs" to show us. We had so much fun learning about and touching each one!  We had a chance to hold a scorpion, a cockroach, a snake, and a tarantula.
