Remembrance Day

The kids did a lovely job of their poppies and of their poems about peace.  I am super proud of the six students who were picked to read their thoughts about peace at the assembly today.  Great job!

Halloween!

Haunted Houses

Over the last week, students been practicing adding elaborative detail to their writing.  I challenged them to write about a haunted house, using their five senses to help them with their descriptions and details.  How would they feel if they approached a haunted house?  What would they see, hear smell?  We drew and painted haunted house pictures to help with our creativity!

Kickin' It Karate Math

The kids are making amazing progress with the Kickin' It Math Facts Karate Math program.  Students practice reciting basic math facts with a partner every day. After the oral practice, students write a timed test. After 4 consecutive 100% tests students move up a level and earn a "belt".
