Building and Testing - Bridges

For our Building and Testing science unit the students were challenged to design a "bridge" with only 50 straws and masking tape.  The bridge was then tested for strength and stability!

Winter Carnival

We celebrated Quebec's Winter Carnival by having our own Mountview winter carnival.

We spent the whole day outside playing winter games.  We had a "sugar shack" and enjoyed maple syrup on a stick.

We Won!

We won the school Spirit Trophy this month! The school spirit challenge this month was to spread kindness by writing compliments to each other and putting them up for display on the " Kindness Train" that ran down the hall of the school!  Way to go, 3S!

100th Day of school

We had a lot of fun celebrating the 100th day of grade 3!  The whole day was everything 100!  we played lots of 100th-day math games and activities. We built with 100 blocks and we made 100-day trail mix for our afternoon snack.

Valentine's Day!

We had a great day celebrating Valentine's Day and Friendship.
We did Valentine's math with Candy hearts.  We also read the story Enemy Pie and wrote recipes for a good friendship and finally, we enjoyed delicious friendship fruit salad!
