"Me Box" Presentations

September 17th

I was thrilled with how well the "Me Box" presentations were completed.  Many students took the extra time to decorate and personalize the outside of their boxes as well.  We learned a lot about each student through these presentations.    It's not easy to talk in front of the whole class and you all did a fantastic job! Well done grade 3s!

 After each individual presentation we had time to walk around and have a closer look at the contents of each of the "Me Boxes".

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Dioramas

Thursday, May 19th

After reading the novel, students demonstrated their comprehension by building a diorama. The dioramas had to represent significant descriptions students read about in the novel. We spent several days building these, and then put them out on display during our Mountview Showcase.  We received several compliments on the quality and creativity of the dioramas!  Great work grade 3s
Today the students presented their dioramas to the class.

James and The Giant Peach

Wednesday February 10th

We celebrated the completion of our James and the Giant Peach novel study today!

The students have worked hard over the last two weeks on a re-telling activity.  They were challenged to retell the story in their own words, making sure to include important characters, details and settings from the beginning, middle and end of the book.  Once they finished their story they also did their own version of the title page for the book.  Check out our bulletin board display of the finished work.

To Celebrate all the hard work we made peach crisp and then watched the movie.  The students did a great job on the movie versus book comparison activity while watching the movie.
